
A single cell item that can delay a wire signal by a set amount would be great! We can do this currently with a D Flip Flop and a hacked together clock, but this takes up too much space.

A 1x1 building with one wire input and one wire output. Exactly one tick of delay would be fine. Configurable delay (with signal buffer) would be great.
Having a 1-tick delay diode would allow the player to control the location of the simulation update boundries. Currently these boundaries are random and make it very frustrating to make complex circuits. It would also allow circuits with state to be much smaller and (counterintuitively) faster.

If it helps to understand what this is and why it would be useful… We’re asking for a wire gate that works the same way as a single belt building. The input signal will appear at the output in a fixed amount of time, ideally exactly one update (tick) later. Not much use by iteself, but chained together and with other gates it would be very powerful.
Could be a new building or a variant of the Gate gate (transistor).
