I know it isn’t a massive deductive leap to figure out while playing. But because of the way I found out it was a bit annoying. I was trying to build a refined shape capable MAM in classic hard mode before I got to the milestone. I use the virtual painter to differentiate the global transmit channels for color. So when I tried to use Xu—— as my base shape for the channel selector instead of outputting Xw—— it remained uncolored. So, it caused a hard to understand confilct signal, since the virtual painter is implemented properly to match the real painter behavior. I was transmitting an uncolored shape and a color on the same channel but it was not obvious why. Without a mention in the codex I thought it was a bug in the game for longer than I would care to admit.
