I love the 1.0 update, congrats on the work you guys have done!
It is the same idea as suggestions #1625, #4209 but with more explanations.
With the introduction of X and Y shapes and black and uncolored colors the resource gathering increased. I stopped working on my MaM in the previous version because I would have to triple my mines and it seemed like way too much effort.
I use 12 Asteroid miners/pumps with boosters in the end game for every single shape/color that I use at the other end of the wagon unloader and it adds up qiuckly. The 200% Train Throughput increase helps with reducing the train roundtrip but to keep up with the processed shape output I still need the same amount of miners.
Which brings me to my suggestion:
Please add Asteroid Miner and Pump 2nd and 3rd space levels.
After you add mines to the edge of the asteroid you leave a hole in the middle. If you add miners/pumps there too you have to block asteroid squares by running space belts/pipes over them.

If we could have 2nd level Miners and Pumps the belts/pipes could run above the boosters.

The rules would be the same:
The 3D models would only need a slight change. The supporting legs could be raised at the cylinder part. The miner part that hangs underneath at the middle of the platform could be kept at the same height as it is now and lower only the plus shape part of the model that connects the two. This way you can avoid changing the animations too.
Since we already have Belt/Pipe Lifts I assume you already have a working solution for how to handle multi level 3D models.

Space level 2 Miner/Booster could be accessed from milestone 3, Pump and its booster from milestone 4 (same as it is now with 1st level) and 3rd level could be tied to the 3rd Space Level milestone.
This could increase efficiency of mining asteroids but it still takes a lot of effort in the endgame.
Unless you could also introduce upgrades for the extraction platforms: #5153
Train logistics should be also improved due to the new shapes and colors:
